Congratulatiory Speech

arthouse: Clint GranTorino Eastwood

This week I finally recovered a lack that I had accumulated during the previous movie season. I rented the CD "GranTorino" penultimate effort of 'octogenarian Clint Eastwood.
In many I have spoken well, so when the opportunity presented itself the 'I have chosen.
It 's the story an old man (he, the monolithic Clint) a retired American former Ford worker and veteran of the Korean War, which survives to live in a neighborhood that is slowly transformed into a kind of Chinatown (indeed, Hmong-town, but for him is the same).
The old Walt is an old racist, that ill-digested 's invasion of what for him were "Japs." E 'but a guy in one piece and holds high the flag as the American, whose family name is Kowalski him so badly that digests the abuses inflicted a gang of Asian thugs to his neighbors.
And so, although a bit out of time, the Texan by ice-blue eyes, back to avenge injustice, Waving fists and gunfire.
Little by little, the old Walt first rigid and inflexible, you'll discover how to recover the respect of people, even the "Japs" and especially the 'love of life.
GranTorino Why? The title is taken from the name of a Ford coupe, sports icon of the 70s (it was the 'Car of Starsky), which has and our dealing with painstaking care. And the car will be the focus of an event that will be the turning point in the existence of the protagonist.
The film uses a mechanism that Clint has demonstrated the ability to use very well already with Million Dollar Baby. The hard that it melts and then the final tears. The film is certainly enjoyable and achieves its purposes (as well as a moderate success at the box office), but I must say I expected better. I thought it was all built with a lot of trade with the great gigioneggia Eastwood in his classic (and only?) Role and a script to move organized.
Honest and well done, but nothing more.
And for you? Rate this survey! (But not, well ...)
