Why Did Sucker Fish Die

taste in Viareggio Lucca Restaurant: Bread and Wine

Because every now and then because of my well-known Lucchese acquaintances, friends and acquaintances ask me about local hotels and restaurants in Lucca and Versilia, as well as to suggest this site ( Toscanagrandtour ) for any indication of a general nature or suggestions, I thought to post a few reviews on some addresses that I would recommend.
The first is that the carry-over 'wine-tavern Wineries Bernardini, in the Suffrage 7, in the heart of Lucca.
The restaurant is located inside the ancient cellars of the palace Bernardini, one of the most prestigious palaces of Lucca and is therefore located in an underground room, with vaulted ceilings. As I said this is a wine tavern, so do not expect covered Habillé and silver cutlery. E 'furnished with elegant simplicity and on the tables, you will find in paper tablecloth and crystal glasses, so to speak.
The menu offers a choice enough range of dishes and the combinations particularly well managed.
To give an idea, we got as appetizers:
- flan with truffle cream and onion (delicious custard cream and even better: delicious combination)
- salmon trout on grilled polenta (again, delicious combination) As early
instead:
- maltagliati polenta with kale and sausage (really good but substantial)
- tagliatelle with porcini sauce with white meat (very mild)
How I opted for the second leg of a stuffed rabbit the chopped pistachios, but a look of disapproval has led me to give up. And so, we passed to desserts, in my opinion the least deserving of the meal, with:
- cottage cheese with lemon and toasted almonds to 'orange (good but not memorable)
- English custard tart up chestnuts (same as above )

Since we were at lunch, we were limited to two glasses of red Monte Carlo, indeed, alas, very bad.
We got up and relaxed satiated and we paid 50 eur (probably the bill was slightly higher, but the owner is our friend, so he rounded up in our favor).

said Massimo, the owner, and very kind of ' environment that puts at ease, it is worth tasting the delicacies offered by this restaurant. The food as I said, are made with skill and good ingredients and combinations designed with intelligence. Just good.
Desserts hano I went crazy and basically are a cut below the rest of the proposals.
mention apart from the wine. It 's true that we choose between the two proposals by the glass, and both economic zone in the area and that the product is good' oil, but a wine I was expecting a better wine by the glass, if only out of respect for the goodness of the dishes .
Surely, if it was dinner time and I chose a bottle of fine wine, I would not even this fact, but so be it.
Finally, the opening hours. Call for more information, because sometimes open for lunch, some dinner, and others all day, but I have not found a link that allows me to give you directions and therefore, best to book!
Finally, some details to be improved, but surely a location to be advised.

Bernardini Stefano Benni

Like Stefano Benni, I like the sweetness of his stories, and especially the poetry of his characters, who are the real protagonists of the books he writes. Well
his latest novel, Bread Storm is just a book and poster-Benni Thought.
Among its pages, gathered around the Sports Bar, you'll find it all a gallery of his best characters, each with their own extravagant peculiarities, each allegory of the best of the worst human virtues and vices.
And you can watch them struggle for the salvation of the country Montelfo, threatened by the expansionist-cementificatorie of an array of unscrupulous businessmen and politicians maancheinciucisti.
E 'again a fierce struggle, a real battle between good and evil, because at stake is not only the fate of the small mountain town, but rather a way of life, indeed a civilization that does not lose sight of the really important things and that does not dazzle the unnecessary and damaging account of the incivility of profits, of all at once and 's appearance without memory. Benni
Again, use the pen to warn citizens of hosts (defined as human-urban areas, their readers) who live their lives according to, indeed suffering, a way of life aimed at the consumer as such, all individualistic 'extreme and ultimately more and more away from their true nature. Far from Nature.
course, that it seems rather ambitious literary project besides heavy hand Benni depicts this struggle with his personal slight, fairy-like palette.
invents characters and improbable delicious as each puts into the mouth a story (or parable if you want), only to create a choral narrative (the Sports Bar at the bottom is a place where everyone tells her story) that winds up fast the moving epilogue.
A reading light and healthy, that reminds us how easy it is to forget what is truly important and just as easy as can be expended in pursuit of vain appearances.
always helpful.

PS: I introduce the service "If you liked this, check that." In this case, the suggestion is to combat environmental Apennine War humans Wu Ming 2.

Avoledo storm and the phone book of Atlantis Reviews

's work before Tullio Avoledo , Friuli, bank loaned the writer rendered to write or maybe' legal department of a bank of Pordenone, a novel titled "L ' Teleon list of Atlantis. "
Already a license may portend something of the contents of a book. Well, in this case the cover at least gives us a clue to guess what you find in the pages of this novel.
el Atlantis' phone book in fact, are two things that are as mussels and nutella together and this title not will be the only "conceptual bridge" between the player will have to throw a theme el 'other during the reading.
Get ready, because the verosomiglianza Avoledo cares and will take a walk in his most wicked fantasies without any regard for logic, so it is a science fiction story, not even a fantasy thriller. No, a grotesque tale.
In short, our Tullio change log and arguments with great (perhaps too much) confidence, putting everything together and after a slow start (perhaps initially wanted to do another story?) Picks up the story to get really exciting and fun.
The protagonist, an autobiographical Bank employee, will face a global conspiracy that will engage in 'order: the followers of the ancient Egyptian gods, Egyptian gods themselves, belonging to the bizarre secret sect of the Rosicrucians and sophisticated frauds. The
the pace, as there will be arguments, as well as the desire to see how it ends.
course we need to sign a contract with the writer rather onerous, where reality is always that which he writes, except when he writes something different, but in the end the reward is a very enjoyable read. And sorry if it is little.

Warning: this is a classic book that you can not read by many breaks, not to mention risk and understand it.

Note 2: If you liked American Gods by Neil Gaiman, best not avvicinarcisi (a connoisseur ...)
